Batcup

The BatCup cotyloid implant, designed for use in revision surgery, is an hemispherical metal cup, with grooves on the edges that house locking flanges, which are attached to the iliac bone by cancellous screws, and to the cup by a small screw.

The cup is made of Titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) and double coated in Titanium Plasma Spray and Hidroxyapatite (Plasmapatita). The flanges are made of Titanium alloy and act as arms, joining the cup to the bone around it. There several types of flanges, which are easily moulded. The versatile design and the different positions in which they can be placed mean that they can be attached to the healthy areas of the iliac bone.

Features

  • Versatility in any type of bone loss
  • Mechanical stability due to the many anchor points in healthy bone
  • Allows early load bearing and supports bone graft and implant integration
  • Facilitates bone defect reconstruction and implanting the cup in an anatomical position
